Auckland project upgrade
A restoration project for Grade II listed gardens
A restoration project for Grade II listed gardens
As part of £10m works, the Grade II listed gardens of Auckland Castle are set to undergo a restoration upgrade in early December.
The aim of the project is to regenerate the town’s historic centre and make Bishop Auckland a wonderful place to live and a prime tourist destination.
For The Auckland Project (TAP) work is needed from our team at STP Construction for the redevelopment of the walled gardens, including making good stone walls. The work not only consists of wall repairs but we are constructing a maintenance block and preparing the ground and surroundings ready for a specialist glasshouse construction supplied and erected by S&F d’Antan based in Paris.
Due to the area’s historical interest, it is listed as a conservation area and therefore we have a duty to conserve all aspects of character within the new maintenance block and glass house.
Partnered with Thornton Firkin LLP, MawsonKerr, Pip Morrison and JCC, we look forward to seeing this project come to life.
Stay tuned for further updates.
